Let's try to get back on topic here.

The SLP set up IMO sounds SWEET. I have had a few different systems on my car and love the way the SLP sounds. If I could do it all over again I would either do SLP or all Magnaflow or all Bassani.

I have heard BADGT02's car and it sounds sick!! It doesn't sound like a truck and it sure the hell doesn't sound like glass packs. It sounds like a pist off linebacker after a case of beer and can't get laid.

If you are looking for an original sound and don't want to sound like most other stangs out there, stay away from flows. Not trying to trash flows, but I don't care for them. I had them on my car and I didn't like them. The SLP system has a very unique sound that really sets itself away from the others. If you like loud and an aggressive tone, you will not be dissapointed with the SLP set up. Word of advise though....KEEP the cats in!! Just ask BADGT02, he'll tell you!

I've had both the SLP catback and Slowmaster 40 weld in's on my Stang.

The Slowmasters made my car sound like everyone else's, the 2k rpm drown sucked, and slowmasters rob power with their baffled design inside.

I got into SLP because I used to be a GM fan, and saw how awesome Loudmouth systems were on Camaros. I love the way mine sounds and cant wait to do their X. Not to mention the fact that their parts are all stainless steel is great.

Opinions are like *******s, everyone has them and they all stink. If you guys don't like the SLP, great, That doesnt mean they suck. Its a different sound and I like it.

Whenever you can. I didn't get the X for Christmas and just found a deal on a Diablo tuner that I can't pass up, so I'll be doing the X probably in March.

My teenage neighbor has an SLP set-up on his '04GT and my wife says it sounds like a Mack truck.

Margnaflow is the way to go since it's shown to be the highest flowing. Get SLP if you want to sound like a kid wishing he had an old musclecar.

Glad to see we still have some old farts into mustangs. I think it's fairly silly to categorize people by saying “Get SLP if you want to sound like a kid wishing he had an old musclecar.” Not only is it silly, but it shows how opinionated and egotistical old people can be. I’m only 31 and I hope to god I don’t lose my self integrity to a point where I have degrade an individual based on what he/she drives or puts on their car. I’m sure you and your wife are really nice people, but when you make statements like that it’s rather difficult to fathom.

I say to each his own and opinions are only that. Get what you like and stick up for fellow Stangers, it’s the ricers whom we bash!!

Very well said! I have an O/R Mac H coming and paired up to my ProStreets should make me as loud as SLP...but I still want to hear SLP in person so I can decide for myself if I like it and if it's in my future. After the holidays though

He thinks the car sounds like an old muscle car.

IMO the SLP sounds raspy, hollow and just plain obnoxious. I can't see how anyone likes the sound but to each their own.

Forgot to mention. I am 34 so not an old fart 'cept maybe on this board.

Just saying that the SLP is soo obnoxious that I can't imagine how much aspirin the poor guy goes thru trying to get rid of his headache.

Tests have proven that Magnaflow is the highest performing bar none. I guess some people just want to sound fast instead of being fast.

in a "muffler" sense you are right, but the slp's are not mufflers. They are resonators, just an open straight through chamber with nothing inside.

BADGT02 Give it up man, You know my Magnaflows have more power then yours :D However, I must admit, I like following you just to hear those SLP's singing(with cats on of course). If I had a GT, SLP's would be on it for sure. Look good, sound good, and excellent quality from what I have seen. Of course this is MY OPINION, and I am sticking to it.

I think its the "cobra" part of your car that makes you more powerful. Let me get a blower you lucky bastard. But anyway thanks for the support.

As for you SLP haters there is no sense in me arguing with you about it. You have the right to dislike it for what ever reason, but jumping in on threads and flaming it just shows your level of ignorance. I think magnaflows and flowmasters are to quite, but i don't go board hunting for articles about it and jump in and make stupid comments. This was not a thread about how you feel about SLP. A fellow stanger wanted to hear it for his reference, he may like it or he may hate it, leave that for him to decide. For now I will just continue to **** off the world with my loud, obnoxious, "mack truck exhaust" and i will love it. Flame on haters and Happy New Year.

You know what...SCREW MAGNAFLOW and SCREW FLOWS and SCREW SLP......
It's all about BASSANI you BIOTCHES!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok....Seriously though....BADGT makes a very valid point. Someone inquired about SLP and wanted to hear it. There is no reason to hate on it and make judgemental coments. A simple "I don't like it" would have done. Although your opinion was not asked for. Either way, let the guy make up his own mind.

    Oh yeah...Happy New Year......

Sorry for flaming. Was not my intent. Like I had said, to each their own.

As for best performing exhaust there is a link that I found thru this website which was a magazine article installing and testing the SLP, Magnaflow, and I beleive the Bassani catback on a bone stock 'stang. They show decible rating, HP & TQ gains and their overall impressions.

My car is still slow regardless of which exhaust is on the car. Especially coming from an 11 second Turbo Buick but the addition of a Procharger will soon correct that.

Happy New Year everyone and thank you all fo the interest and the replies. SLP, Flows, Magnas, Spintechs, Warlocks, Pypes, Hooker, Dynomax, Borlas, Bassani, Ravin and all the others I didn't mention do one thing : They replace perfectly fine (somestimes new) mufflers that came with the car and increase the noise (and sometimes performance) for our grinning pleasure...we just like our noise in different flavors is all...but we all love the horse and love revving it up for no good reason :D
