steering linking bolt broke....

I had to remove my steering linking and when I was putting it back together the bolt that goes through the idler arm bracket broke. I didn't think I was tightening it up that much but it snapped none the less. Do I have to use specific bolts or can I just go to home depot and get the equivalent... dumb question maybe....but it's STEERING I am messing with so I thought I'd ask.

I think it's supposed to be a grade 8 bolt so it dosent snap like that, I'd feel safer anyway knowing that I had a solid bolt in there vs. a cheapie
