Hey guys, I have an Eclipse stereo with an amp and 12" sub. I just had a friend of mine hook it up a couple of weeks ago but the bass from the sub only comes on when the radio is on. I wanted it to work also with the cd player and when I have my iPod playing. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I had the same head unit and the sub hooked up before in 2004 but the amp died. I used to be able to blast the subs with the cd player then.

Is your amp turn-on wired to the power antenna turn-on from your deck (some decks have both a power antenna and amp turn on wire)?

Second question, does your power antenna lead only turn on when it's on the radio (the only time you'd really need to use a power antenna)?

I'd bet that it's wired improperly.

As the previous post stated, connect your amp's turn on wire to the blue/ white wire coming out of the sterio instead of the solid blue wire that it is currently connected to...
