I wanted to post up some dyno results for a stock 09 GT that was tuned with HP Tuners.

I hope to have the car back here next week to do some more work with. I had to work around a few things since the HP Tuners Software and Datalogging is still in the Beta Testing phase for the 09 cars, and the car arrived at the dyno with a tank full of 87 Octane fuel...

Anyways, after some tweaks the car picked up 20 HP peak, and in some places 25-30hp over the stock tune. The car was totally stock, Dyno used was a Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno. These dynos typically read about 13% lower than the big drum DynoJet Dynos.

Pretty impressive numbers (Hp/Torque) for just a tune!

I was suprised too. I'd like to get a few more cars in for some testing to see if they yield the same results.

Definitely can't do it for free, I have to feed my family somehow. I did the engineering thing for a while after I got out of college, but much prefer this.

I'm a huge fan of the Dyno Dynamics Dynos awesome for tuning cars.

Seems kind of crazy that a tune can bring out that much power from a stock car, congrats. What all does it adjust?

Its seems like the OEMs are over-conservative with the factory tunes.

Typically, OEMs will run 10:1 A/Fs at WOT, and are exceptionally conservative with the ignition timing. On totally stock cars, leaning them out, adding some ignition timing, and moving the cams around can yield some decent gains. On the 09 cars, I think they were even designed to run on 87 Octane gas. Changing over to 93 Octane would probably open the door for some more power as well.

So after reading this post I went to see John at Six Sigma Dyno in Concord. Let me tell you, he has some of the best customer service, patience, skills and attitude then most people that I have dealt with.

John took 5 hours out of his day to completely re-tune my mustang. I arrived with an engine code due to some mods I had been running without a tune and we ended up finding out that the TB Spacer was causing some possible air leak. John and I worked to uninstall and put everything back together. He fabbed some screws for me (because I needed shorter ones due to removing the spacer) and hooked it all back up. Not a huge part in labor but its the fact that he could have told me to fix my problem and come back for a tune after I had everything figured out.

Long story short here, I gained 30rwhp from the tune, both on the low end and high end. The car runs amazing now. I do not have any more codes being thrown and its much more responsive. I recommend letting John do what he does best if you want an incredible tune. I plan on going back and letting him install long tube headers, x-pipe, delete plates and underdrive pulleys when I purchase them. :nice:
