Stock wheel width?

I scored some like new 275/40/17's for free. They are goodyear F1's so I may try them on the back of my Mustang. I was wondering if the stock wheel width was 8'' or 9''. I actually have 2002 GT wheels if that matters.

On the 95 I believe they are 8.

any 17 inch wheel from 94-04 on a stock GT is 8 inches. the 275s will fit.

yah dude, you should be fine. I have some Firehawk wideovals 275 (equivelant to the potenza RE750). It's wierd though, the potenza S-03 245 wasn't that much more narrow.

Thats cool. I am hoping they don't stick out really far over the wheel. I got them off a guy who builds some crazy mustangs. He claimed they had broken belts but we couldn't find anything wrong with the tires. (I change tires at sears still in school).

He had the 275's on 9.5'' wheels on the front and 315's out back. Had oversized sway bars, tokico shocks, tubular a-arms and K member, sportlines, 15psi boost. His 2001 coupe (that car) put down 504hp to the wheels and his 03 cobra puts down 673. Its crazy.

I don't have to many issues with traction now but once I get the 4.10's in I may need them. Couldn't hurt anyways.
