Hey, im new to stangnet. I joined to get some useful information. I own a 03 gt. It has 129k miles. It use to be my daily driver, since ive moved closer to work i rarely drive it. 5th gear is now grinding, i assume a syncro. Ive owned 4 mustangs 88 lx hatch 5.0, 88 gt hatch, 01 gt, and now 03gt, next step 03 or 04 cobra!!! one problem, dont wanna spend 20k. So, how much would i spend to do a swap? motor and tranny from 03 or 04 cobra into my 03 gt?

The Cobra motor and tranny will cost about the same as your car is worth. They are very expensive.

Not worth it to do a swap into your car. Sell your car and get the cobra, you will get the update suspension, brakes, and everything else for the same or little more than you would spend doing the swap.

    A forged 2V swap w/ supercharger
    a 3v swap
    or lincoln 4v swap
    will all be cheaper

Just rebuild yours and call it a day. Only trans I will go to besides stock would be the T-56 ie the one on the terminators. Buying a used one doesn't make sense to me as its going to have a good amount of miles already on it.

I got a Ford Factory rebuilt T3650 (with all the TSBs done to fix shift issues) for 900 on ebay. Its looks brand new and has been dyno tested.
