T5 Noise

I just put new clutch kit and input shaft bearing in my T5. Now in 1st 2nd and 3rd. I hear the tranny whine. It also feels like a little shimmy when in 3rd. Any ideas what's up with this?? When aprart all other parts looked good.

Is it loudest in 1st and gets quieter in 2nd and 3rd and silent in 4th?

If so, the noise if from the inferface between the input shaft and the mainshaft of the T5. The issue is caused by low fluid level basically starving the mainshaft roller bearings of fluid and causing them to score the shaft. You should check the fluid level inside the trans and top it off immediately if it's low. It might quiet it down.

The "fix" is a new T-5 mainshaft and roller bearings unfortunately.
