Are you actually going to keep this one for a while??!?!?! :)

Yeah, probably. It's got project potential, and it's not a terribly expensive deal. Plus, it's going to have to sit and collect dust for awhile as I gather the necessary goodies, anyway.

Loving the two tone dash

I sense sarcasm here... :D I'm planning on either painting, swapping (it's cracked), or capping the dash. For right now, the sexy porno-red embroidered carpet that came on it is staying put. :nice:

Yeah, I was being a asmart ass. Really though I like the car and would love to have a Fox project like that. But now I only have one day off a week and with the two cars I wash and wax now with the home cleaning I really dont have the time or cash for it :(

Somebody took the original wing off and put an 1986-later wing on there since it has the 3rd brakelight

Interesting how i notice stupid things like that

Yeah. It's already a PITA, too, because there's a bunch of leaves and crap that've gathered under/inside it because the leading edge (toward the front) has about a 1/4 gap between itself and its mating surface, but the back is about flush with the decklid. Thus, I'm going to have to unbolt it, clean it, and either remount it with some kinda weatherstripping under there to close the gap, or install a different wing. I don't really care about the 3rd brake light, just so long as I don't get pulled over for it because some cop doesn't know they aren't required on '84 (or is it '85?) and older vehicles ... or I could just wire it up to actually work and fugeddaboutit.

1986 was the first year they put it on the mustang.

i would leave it off...but then it doesn't hurt to have an extra brake light to tell someone to stop so i dunno what i would do

I think trucks and SUV's were exempt from the 3rd brake light standard for awhile until at least '90. My '86 GMC S-15 doesn't have one, and neither did my '89 S-10 Blazer.

Now I find myself kinda wishing we hadn't thrown away that Saleen spoiler from Frankenstang's Capri. Not a big fan of those huge wings, but without ANY kind of spoiler on a Fox hatch, it looks naked...

Meh ... dunno. If I can make the current one work for me, then no. If the current spoiler proves to be too much of a PITA because of its weird fitment, then it's getting ditched for something else, preferrably an '84-correct spoiler. (I don't want a "shelf" for my hatch. :D ) I would go for a GT wing because they're everywhere and cheap, but ehhhh ... nah. Wouldn't look right on a four-eye.

That's "TABLE".

:D It's actually quite handy.

Nah - not on a four-eye. Only two choices I'd consider are a stock '84 wing, or one of those more boxy kinda wings like on a '79 Pace Car/'82 GT. I prefer subtlety. I don't want to advertise the thing as being faster than it is by slapping on Cobra or Saleen body bits, especially when I'm only rockin' about 155 horses and a CFI setup. :D

I caused it to rain. It's my fault. I washed the car yesterday, therefore it shall rain tonight, because the arse-end of the car is sticking out just far enough from under its carport to make spots. So, anyone else in the East Valley who's going to be upset by a downpour will have me to blame. :(

Trying to plan out what'd be best to do with upgrading AND fixing the car. If it does turn out to be a a head gasket, I'm definitely slapping on a set of E7's when I do it. However, I dunno if I wanna mess with the carb conversion or dual exhaust just yet. I may just drive it as-is (with E7's) to see what (if any) improvement it gives, and to get me some 2-year tags so I don't have to fart around with that for awhile. During that 2-year period, then I'll have time to do all the other stuff and get all the bugs worked out before the next smog time comes about ... which hopefully won't be a big deal, unless they become Über smog nazis in that time and even a stock-looking carb conversion won't pass inspection. By then, I'd hope to have to converted to carb with a Duraspark ignition and 5-speed, pretty much making it look like any other stock carb'ed '84, and I doubt they'd raise a fuss about duals, as long as it has 50-state legal cats and passes the sniffer.

Finally some rain?
