Title should read coolest thing the ups man has delivered to me, here it is, in all its glory, my new transmission, no more broken tremecs in my future.

This is what the inside looks like, not mine, a friends transmission he had to take apart for some service. If you notice, no one piece cluster shaft like a tremec transmission so in the event of a gear failure, all that needs to be done is pull the shaft out of, take a gear off of the shaft and replace it with a new one. The last time i broke 3rd gear in my tremec it took out a total of $1080 dollars worth of parts alone...

Lots of cutting had already happened, Liberty sent me an empty mock up transmission so i could get the tunnel done while i was waiting..

The hole got much bigger to clear the linkage.

After some debate about the next motor's power output, I am considering going with an auto. I had not thought about trying to use a Liberty or Lenco on the street. If you don't mind me asking, what do you have in it with the bell, clutch etc?

Is that their "pro shifted" version?

It is a face plated clutch assisted box, pro shifting transmissions is really a thing of the past, the pro shift dogs wear out and need to be replaced like a synchro would, but the faceplates are extremely durable and street driving really doesnt beat the lugs up at all.

Trans is 5500, bell is 6-900 depending on what you get and a clutch/flywheel is anywhere from 500-2000. Not cheap but realistically it is just under 2000 more than a fully loaded tremec from liberty and when you break a tremec once there goes the money that was saved. Liberty takes deposits so i paid that to get them started and you can make payments on it up until it is finished, i wouldnt have ever had the money all at once to do it but i worked a lot of OT to pay for this thing.

There are a few guys around the mustang world that switched to them. Ill be running this one as a 4 speed at the track, you cant get a overdrive 5th with a trans like this so we geared the transmission pretty steep on 1-4 and 5th will be the cruising gear, with a 3.27 rear

I was just on their site this past weekend looking at their upgraded tko 600 which was running just under 3k. I couldn't tell if it was faceplated or the old pro shift/dog ring setup. Congrats! Nice trans btw! I'm just not convinced I'll ever make enough power to quantify the extra expense personally. Even though it's what I want lol.

It doesnt take much to kill a tko. They can be really hit or miss and over 600 hp is starting to push the limit. A faceplated tko with all the options is around 3600 bucks. The have one that has carbon synchros that is around 2800 i think

Yeah I was looking at the carbon synchro trans. At least they throw a Pro 5.0 shifter in the deal lol.

Yea i am signed up for drag week. I think i can get everything done in time. We just bought a house too so it will be interesting trying to balance projects here and get the car done.

I still plan to drive this thing on the street as much as with the old transmission and will try to get a bunch of vids from dragweek
