the government making the banks an offer they cant refuse

    our government is strong arming the biggest banks to accept partial government ownership. what do you guys think about this? discuss.

    It could turn out well, or it could be a disaster. I personally have no problem with the gov buying banks. That should make the banks more accountable and subject to greater oversight,

    I don't think the gov't should own chit except the basics. To live you need electricity, water, education (yea I know I know), roads, drainage, traffic lights, signs.

    You can keep your money under a mattress.

    This brings up an interesting question. Why does our government have to borrow money at interest. Why can't they just print the stuff at will?

    I ask because last week my boss who is one of those anti Fed people got me to watch this video. Take a look and see what you think. It is kinda long though.
