I want to replace my Single Master Cylinder to Dual. I have a stock V8 65 still with 4 wheel drums. From what year will work? I do plan on replacing ALL the break lines as well.
Well, the 67-up standard cylinder will work, and all the brake lines up to the divider block will work. You'll need a universal master cylinder line kit to connect it, and a double-female connector to bypass the divider block with the rear brake line, and a plug to seal the former rear line outlet.
when i did this swap on my 64 falcon, used the same fruit jar master cylinder as the mustang does, i used a 67 mustang drum brake master cylinder. as for the brake lines contact Classic Tube - PreBent and Custom Stainless and OE Brake Lines and more... or Inline Tube - Preformed Stainless & OEM Brake Line Sets for new brake lines already bent up and ready to install. i didnt replace the brake tubes though, i just used some short sections you can find in the parts store as well as some brass fittings and couplers for the conversion. it should only take you about an hour or two to do the job.
