Google it, man. Lots of people are talking about how political the show is, particularly how it may be a thinly disguised attack on the Obama administration. I'm not making this stuff up.
You can say that about any show. Even the idiots beloved "American Idol" You want to see something and something and you will find it. Also to play into what you are saying, shows will also purposly add whatever is going on in the real world to make the show seem more real and atract viewers attention.
I haven't seen the original '80s show, but I have read about how it was also politically charged, particularly in respect to Nazi policies, as you're pointing out. I don't want to push this too far, because it's going to end up in fight club, and I have no desire to go there, haha. All I'm going to say is that TV critics nationwide are talking about "V" and how it reflects current events. It's not just me.
I'm not saying there aren't people saying it. I'm not saying you can't make the comparison. But if you look hard enough at any TV or movie, you'll see ties to political and social issues, past and present. Whether the creators are aiming to make a direct comparison or have an agenda is completely different.
This thread was dead for months and you dug it up. I thought it was called necro posting, Necro meaning dead. Aren't you a mod?
This would all be warranted if it was actually Kraw that dug this thead up and not LaserSVT.... ...newb
the topic however is still current tho. no need to make a new thread and then have a mod come in and merge the new thread with the old since the tv show came on at the beginning of 2010 and went off the air for a month or two, the lapse in the thread is expected
One thing that always puzzled me about this series (and the original for that matter). The Visitors reffer to themselves as Visitors, or "V"? This was a nickname given to them by the humans when they arrived. Why don't the call themselves by their own race like Klingons or something?
For the same reason R2D2 understood the English language, yet spoke in beeps and buzzes to everybody, and everybody understood what he was saying.
