Thinking of a new DD.

This converstation is so out of my realm that I can't even interject. That's awesome that you are in this kind of position. I could never imagine spending that kind of money on a DD right now. Hell, I'll probably never own a car over $35 in my life. For this reason, I'm just going to be a spectator :) I'm sure whatever you pick will be great!

Its a nice change. I have spent the last couple years in constant fear of overdrafting my checking account. :( I have been just scraping by taking care of my family and if their was a repair needed then I had to make magic happen

Mabey i should just get a new Skyline GT-R. Does anyone know if that stupid GPS speed limiter they have (the one that turns off when you get to a race track) is also on American versions?

That wont be on the American versions. That would be a great car for sure, but dealers will take the pi$$ on the price because of the low volumes.

Personally though, I guarantee that I'll never buy another brand new car ever again. The things I could have done to my stang if I hadnt paid 27k for it new!!! It would be a beast. I paid good money for that P.O.S. Escort ZX2 I used to have too. Dammit!!!!!

I would much rather buy a high-end car used that still has a little warranty on it, than get a crappier car brand-new from the dealer. What do I care if its pre-owned as long as its in mint condition... Cars simply lose too much value in their first year. Even if you have to pay for a load of maintenance, it'll be way less than the extra $$$$ you'd have paid to buy the car new.

Check out the Porsche Cayman S... thats a seriously good looking car.

The boxter is for girls and since the Cayman is the hard top version then it must be for boys that want to be girls  :D

I'm glad that you have a great situation now man! It's no fun worrying about the money and what you need to do to get emergency stuff paid for. :nonono: Taking care of the family is def the first thing, and enjoy if you have any extra right? :nice: Let us know!

If you do get the 300K....save it for a good investment later.
If I had 300K just laying around, I would be a millionaire in a few years....im not kidding.

You have a great opportunity now to set yourself up later to become wealthy. 300K alone isnt jack as far as spending it goes....you can look all rich with a ZR1 or whatever but eventually its going to catch up with you and bam you will have to sell the car and then your stuck back in the same spot....even if you dont sell the car, then you will only have a few things to show for it.

I say set yourself up and get to the point where you can REALLY afford to buy these cars, but where its not a big chunk of all your total worth. And dont let your dad suck it out of you either...I would act as though its not even there until it came to the point where say a business came up for sale or property comes up for sale that you know will be worth much more later.

This is exactly how many millionaires get their start....not getting greedy and spending the money wisely with their future in mind. And since we are in a recession...this is a perfect time!

JMO bro...hopefully you will think about what I said very seriously.

i know its a sedan, but how about a 2006+ Lexus GS430. they look awesome and arent terrible performers.
Never thought of one. They appear to be low 20's but have 40-60k on them. Sure do have some nice features and great power but kinda ugly car. I may have to go drive one though,

NM, they all have more miles then my 16 year old Ranger has. :nonono:
