Thunderbird motor swap

I have a 96 thunderbird and i was looking into swappin out my 3.8 for a 5.0. i was wondering if you guys know if a 5.0 would hook up into my 4r70w trans (the trans in all newer GT's) i can get most of the parts like motor mounts and wiring harnesses from 89-93 thunderbirds with 5.0's in them since its basically the same car. if you guys have any suggestions in how to get the drivetrain to work let me know, thx
