So, I got a coolant leak at the timing cover gasket area, deciding to change out the stock timing chain and go with another. Are there any good chains out there, or is a gear driven set better?
A nice gear drive set is going to be expensive. I'd just go with a well-known aftermarket company for a new chain. I've actually got a Summit chain kicking around doing nothing if you want it. I don't know who makes them for Summit, but it came with my Trick Flow top end kit and I never used it.
Gear drives are noisy and kind of a red neck thing imo. I think an adjustable ford racing timing gear and chain set is like $45 from summit racing, I cant remember though.
