What would you all recomend as far as tire pressure as it relates to gas mileage. Im going on a long range (1500mi) trip next month, should I go higher than reccomended? lower? exactly what is reccomended? School me.
Each tire, or size usually takes a different psi. The sidewall of the tire will have the max pressure rating. My tires max are at 36psi.. I run 34 psi with the tires warm.
I think most people run a few lbs lower than the max.
I believe my max is 35, but will running it a few lower actually increase gas mileage? Or will the change in gas mileage be so insignificant that it wont really even matter?
I dont know. There is a sweet spot for mpg, but im not sure where it is. You dont want to really overinflate them though... they will wear badly and could pop in certain cases.
