like the topic says, i'm slowwwwwly but surely learning how to do small things on photoshop

anybody have any extremely easy tips as to making cool things happen with this stuff?

Nice pics! Text is what I can't seem to master. The only shortcut I can tell you is to use the magnetic lasso tool to get a rough outline of what you want, then select the polygonal lasso to either add to the selection or subtract from it using the option selector at the top of the toolbar. I used to outline everything with the polygonal lasso and it'd take forever, the magnet is MUCH faster. For the pics below I used the magnetic lasso to outline the tree line and sky, then I went to the select tab at the top and hit the "inverse" button which selected everything except the sky. I then copy and pasted it and then added the backgrounds I wanted.

Here's a few I've done lately while bored, I'm trying to get better at matching the back ground brightness and contrast with the picture.
