ok fellas, my tps is set to .98 volts, this is right on the money cause I used a military spec volt meter, and it started to actually idle half way decent but anyhow, with the things I have listed, what is a good setup for my stang on the PMS? I know they are all different, but I need a tune to base it off of. I tried to post on stangtuning.com but it wont let me for some reason. Thanks Sean
did you get a sheet with your pms, your suppose to fill it out and fax it back to Rick and they will send you a start up tune. Nick
The key is tuning in a custom curve on your cars combo. The O4 PMS is the best mod ever since the blower install. I've been tuning it for a week now and I believe I have it almost perfected! It takes awhile to get it all figured out on fuel and timing but the curve is what you want but I'm still learning myself. Idle table: Timing @ 10* Start up Fuel @ -30 Idle Control: Off P/T table: I started with setting part throttle tables (LL,ML & HL) until I had no pinging and felt max power. I worked with the timing in LL first and drove around and did the ML next and HL last. LL 2 3 4 ML 5 6 7 HL 2000 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 2500 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 3000 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 3500 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 4000 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 4500 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 5000 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 5500 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 6000 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 6500 10 10 10 10 -5 -5 -10 -10 -10 WOT table: I set timing next in here same as the PT table until I had max power and then no pinging. 3-4K -15*= (10* total timing) 4-5K -10*= (15* total timing) 5-7K -5* = (20* total timing) I use Standalone : On @ 2200 RPM (automatically starts timing @ 25* total +/- what I added in the other menus.) It took me over a week after install to get it tuned just right and it will change everyday b/c you pick up so much info and learn a lot about your car in the process. Good Luck.
awwwwww crap. JR is picture whoring again. [runs away] Nothing good to add to this thread. So I vote for a TTT for you! Scott
Wow, nice interior, mine is stock as it comes cept for my white face guages and short throw. Ok, as far as the idle settings go, do you set the idle timing setting at 10* or do you set that manually w/ the distributor? That may have made my car run stupid also. Thanks Sean
You need to pull the spout and set the dist @ 10*. If you use the standalone feature it will automatically set timing @ 25*(when dist is @ 10*) +/- what you have set in the other timing tables for boost, wot and part throttle.
Joe are you serious? This is what it looks like w/o the screen attached. The way I designed it holds the plug snug so the screen is easy to disconnect and take out. The plug can stay in the bracket or just slides out to hide away in the glove box, etc.. The bracket can stay or can be removed in about 5 minutes reverse of install. I'm thinking about starting to make them and offering to PMS owners b/c I hear alot complain about being able to view the screen clearly when driving. This mount puts it right in your view and can be mounted in what ever position you want. I'm currently testing a design for the steering column and it's pretty cool but I need to make some other mods to it. Next.....painting the monitor to match the interior!
ok, here is the new problem. I put in all the settings that they gave me, but I run REALLY lean on the left bank at about 4500, and by lean I mean like 30 and less on the PMS scale, any idea what would cause that, mebbe a bad o2 sensor?
Sounds like a bad sensor. JR do you think the bracket will fit the old older version PMS? Take a couple pics of that bracket by itself.
