Hey, Ive got an 87 mustang notch and I was wondering what you guys think it would run in the 1/4. Here are the specs: -306 -converted to MAF -ported and polished stock heads -f303 cam -1.7 roller rockers -GT40 Upper and Lower -offroad H, BBK headers -70mm throttle body -fenderwell cold air intake -3.55 gears -Hurst short throw -FMS racing clutch -255's on the back on 17inch wheels Also if you have any guesses on how much power it is making and opinions on ways to gain more would be awesome! Thanks,
Your probably making somewhere in the ball park of 230 RWHP. As far as your track times what are you running for tires? Street tires Id say high 14's, if your using DR's Id say mid to lower 14's. How much track experience do you have?
Im runnin street tires, and i dont really have much track experience. Ive taken an 11 second camaro down the track once. It will be a bit harder this time though since mine is a 5 speed and ive never launched a 5 speed at the track. My car is basially a stripper car also, it is manual everything and according to the registration weighs around 2900-3000lbs.
go around water box heat tires just a little puff of smoke if at all try around 3000 3300 leave the line and leave gas to the floor. drive it like you stole it shift at 5250 just might hit 13s if you can take some weight off but low 14 is very doable
Yeah, low 14s seem about right. Maybe even a high 13 if you use slicks. As far as your motor combo though an F cam seems a bit much for stock heads even with a port and polish job. A good set of heads and you should have a solid 13 sec car.
