Well, I went to the 1/8th track for the 1st time since I ran my old '95. First time at a track with this car. I suck!!!

Car is a 306. No supporting stuff. Stock heads, cam, intake, etc. Stock 2.73's.

Only Mods Are:

Exhaust (BBK shorties, Summit O/R H)
eBay CAI
Heavy 17"x10.5 Bullits with thin rubber (315/35's)
Steeda shifter

Thats all I can think of.

My best of 3 runs:

9.9403 @ 73.62 MPH :rlaugh:

The slips do not show 60' times for some reason. I know this time sucks, though. Temps. were around 90* with like 90% humidity and I was in the mountains, so I'd guess elevation to be around 3K' where I was at.

The car is pretty well stock, but I still think I should have done better. I know the heavy wheels and thin tires slow me down because they are making me spin. I spun quite a bit in 1's & 2nd. I may have been launching too high. I think it was around 2K RPM's, lol.

ON A GOOD NOTE ... I DID BEAT A '99 Z-28 WITH THESE SLOW TIMES ... TWICE

But, something had to be wrong with the car ... he wasn't spinning.

Ive never been to the 1/8 mile track before but regardless of if its a 1/8 or 1/4 it all comes down to practice and getting your 60' times down as much as possible. There are a lot of factors that can effect times, anything from temp's to track prep.
