trans pan drain plug

I'm going to be swapping my aod valve body soon, and was thinking of putting a drain plug kit in the pan till i get around to buying an aftermarket pan...Any one ever put one in? Just wondering if they leak or hold up well...thanks

The best way is you weld a bung in the pan, it will not leak at all....or break down and buy a pan.

2nd the weld in bung.....and a plug with a gasket.....But don't forget to change your filter once in a while

If you choose to just drill the 1/2" hole in the pan and use the double nut drain plug, you never really get all the fluid, but more importantly, the gunk out, cause the nut inside the pan will keep and 1/2" of fluid and stuff in the pan.

If you weld the bung in like suggested, it would be better but I would still consider on of these options. For the 5 - 6.00 you are going to pay for the drain plug plus the cost of welding, These will prolly be pretty close.
