Happy new year everybody.
Just got my newly aquired 91 GT vert back from the workshop. In this connection I have a couple of questions.
1/. Had it converted from 5 speed to Automatic, and the shop used a LX donar car of unknown year. I have the "shifter" with a overdrive position, however, when in this position it is as in Neutral. In D It also feels like very big gap between the gears, like it is changing only between 1 & 3.
2/. The starter engagement is VERY noisy, as if the starter ring on the flywheel does not fit the original 91 starter motor.
Could they have installed a different/wrong gearbox, ie from a too old mustang?
Further, (and excuse me for very limited Mustang knowledge), when driving it it feels like I am sitting directly on the road, no suspension or comfort at all, and as if driving a race car. Complety stiff.
Is this normal?
The good news are that it looks fantastic with Ferrari yellow paint, new black top & silver "skirts".
The bad one is that this was suppose to be the wifes car, and there is no way she gone use it if she need a kidny belt for a trip to the supermarket.
Regards, Per
