I think its about time to change the transmission fluid in my 2000 Mustang GT, Manual. Vehicle has 107k miles on it and have yet to change the fluid. Any advice on what tranny oil to get and how to actually change the fluid would be greatly appreciated. Also, not sure if there are any oil filters involved or how to flush the system of the old fluid. Any directions?

Simply jack the car up, and pull the bottom plug on the case. It will say "DRAIN" next to it. Let it all drain out. If you can refill it through the "FILL" plug, do that. IF you can't reach it....just pull the shifter out and fill it through the shifter. I fill up mine on level ground with the fill plug out. When it leaks out, I stop, let the dripping stop, then put the plug back in. Then silicone the shifter area and drop it back in.

I use regular ATF. If you want synthetic, that's up to you.
