I'm trying to learn as much as I can about my automatic trans (2006 Mustang V6). Can anyone tell me the model number? Also, is a transmission tuner a good idea to improve the shifts (crisper shifts)?

I don't have the model number off hand...
But, to answer your second question...
An SCT X-cal 2 with tunes from a good dealer, like Doug at Bamachips ( http://www.bamschips.com/) will do absolute wonders to wake up your ride. Shifts are firmer, there's no throttle hesitation... the car drives like it was meant to from the factory!
