Trick flow

I think i want to go with trick flow track heat intake with trick flow stage 2 came while just porting/polishing heads, keeping my 3 08's until i have money to upgrade to 3 73's. Also get 30 ib injectors,65 mm t.b. Does this sound like a good combination? does anyone have good feedback on trick flows stuff. thanks

Sounds like a good combination for the most part. The problem your gonna run into is the lack of low end torque with that hefty of a cam. It is gonna be a real strain running that with the stock 3.08 gears out back. You also like me have a convertible, which is a good bit heavier. I say maybe consider the stage 1 cam and maybe a street heat intake? What are the major uses for the car, street or strip? I am planning to use mine as a mostly street car with occasional strip use. I am going with the Trick Flow setup thats in my signature. I consulted some well known 5.0 specialists here and this is the suggested combo I got. Hope this helps! Just my .02!

Ok, so then you think that 24 lb injectors would be better. So overall heres what i should end up with, just tell me what you think. Trick flow track heat(idle-6500)or street(idle-5500) intake, trick flow stage 1 cam, 24 lb injectors and 75 mm mass air, 65 -75 mm throttle body?, Ive decided that i am going to go with 3:73 gears, so you think that stage 2 cam is possible or just keep stage 1 in the picture. Get my heads ported/polished until i have money to buy trick flow twisted wedge heads, and maybe upgrade fuel pump. How does this all sound. Thanks

On the throttle body go 65 mm or maybe a 70mm. I got a good deal on a 70 but that might even be a little big for my setup. With the gears you might be alright with the stage 2 cam, but remember to check for valvetrain clearance!!! Remember more lift doesnt always mean more power, in fact it can mean the opposite. I would say if you go for the stage 2 cam then go track heat intake, if you go with the stage 1 cam then go with the street heat intake. Get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator as well. Let us know what you decide!

Hey, thanks for the info. Yea, I think I'll just go with stage 1 cam, street heat intake, then 24lb injectors with 75 mass air, 65 mm t.b maybe 70. I think I can get a cheap deal on a port and polish for my heads, you think this sounds good until i get money for twisted wedge heads? Then get 3 73's. Its probably a good idea to put a nice fuel pump on right? I already have underdrives, pro 5.0 shifter, mac shorty headers..full exhaust. Basically as soon as i think this setup is good, I am going to start ordering some stuff.

30's are fine also, and can be tuned with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator, its better to go with a little bit bigger injector rather and max out the fuel pressure trying to make a smaller injector act bigger than it really is. save the money for the port and polish and buy a set of heads, you can get worked e'7s with larger valves, or gt40's for the price your going to pay for porting and polishing your heads.

It definetely will not hurt to upgrade your fuel pump. But like Bmo and I said you definetely will want an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, with bigger injectors it is a must to tune the engine to prime fuel ratio.

Ok thanks everyone for the helpful advice. I will probably start ordering stuff to start working on everything by january. thanks again

You might also look at the new Trick Flow package deal, sounds a lot like what you are intending to buy. I think it comes with Twisted Wedge heads, Street Heat intake manifold, and a stage 1 cam. Anyone have the link to this on Summit? I think I saw it once but can't find it again. It cost a little over $2000 but sounded like a great deal.

Hey Nice car man! Mine is very similar to the one in my avatar. Unfortunately I dont have any actual pics. I am actually thinking about gettin a black top, it has a white interior and might look odd, but I will just tint the windows so you cant see the interior with the top up! I will be putting my car together in the spring. She is away for winter now!

In my opinion, the stage 2 cam will not have all of its power using ported stock heads. The stage 1 and street heat intake will be better matched for the combo. If you run the stage 1, street heat, and ported stock heads, you will be fine with stock injectors. If you are on a budget(sounds like you are), you could just get the fuel pressure regulator and crank up the psi using the stock injectors.

Save up the money, and get the thirty pounders when you get the twisted wedge heads. You will have a lot more air, and you will need the fuel for it. But for now, with your planned setup, the stoc injectors will be fine.

Yea 93vert, mines away for winter too, i have the white interior too. And thanks chris for your recommendation on the fuel injectors setup. I dont know i might as well get 30 lbs injectors right away with fuel regulator. Then i can crank up/down psi depending on what i want, then when i get my heads ill be ready. But thanks.

I personnally would start with the rear axle, 3.73s and some suspension mods. I would save the cam for when you can swap the heads, and why
waste the money on porting stock crap, just to turn around and swap them off in 6-8months
If youre AOD, the street manifold is better, if youre 5speed go with the track heat

I went 13.30-13.40s with Cobra and 65TB/75mm mass and 24lb injectors.
Stock long block, factory cam, and1.7 rollers

Just an opinion
