What is the best way to tune a 98 GT with a 4.6? The car is pretty much stock. I have got a cold air kit, MSD coils, larger T Body, no cats and flowmasters. I have heard of programers but I have also heard of real detailed tuning. A buddy of mine keeps talking about piggyback systems and others. Any ideas????

What most people use is the SCT handheld tuner. They will run ya about $379 with 3 custom tunes, plus the stock tune. Call Brenspeed at 574-594-9559 they can answer any tuning questions you might have. They specialize in mail order tuning.

At your mod level, a 91/93 octane tune will prolly suffice. The factory already tuned your car to run its best with 87 octane so you won't get any better performance with any other 87 octane tune IMO.

I bought a used Hypertech tuner on this site for $75 and it worked fine. I'll get a better handheld tuner when I change my mods.
