Yup.....before the big money and the drama queens entered the sport. Any qualified fighter could come out and test their might. I started with UFC I and stuck around till about UFC 9 or 10. This was back when they only held an event about every 6-8 months.....not every 5-weeks like they do now.

I don’t think I got back into it again until it was somewhere in the high-30’s or low-40’s. I didn’t know who the hell was fighting at that point, but the rules had changed a lot and not all for the better. :notnice:

As much as Dana White has turned the company around for the better since taking it over, he's really diluted a lot of the raw edginess that it originally was, in order to commercialize it for the general public. It’s become too.....civilized IMO, if that’s possible?

Gracie FTW! I'd love to see them make the fighters fight like 3-5 matches a night again.

I agree that Lesnar would probably kill Kimbo. Kimbo has a powerful punch and knows how to box but that's about it.

From what I had head Randy chance to fight Fedor went out the window when he lost to Brock. Fedor wants to fight the best and that's not Randy right now.

Even Ken Shamrock looked like a seriously BAMF back in UFC 1. I miss the days of a sumo restler vs. a kick fighter, but i also enjoy it how it is today.
