alright here's story. i just installed a magnaflow of road x-pipe and cat back. afterwards i noticed i lost 15# of vacum normally at idle thats what i had. i dont know if this happened before of after the install... i drove it for a day or two and now i got 5# back. i've went all over the hoses with carb cleaner trying to find a leak but turned up nothing. any idea's???

Trying to figure out what you're saying. Vacuum is measured in inches of mercury (inHg). A stock engine will normally idle at 18 inHg. Are you saying that it dropped to 3 inHg and is now 8 inHg? Is the vacuum reading steady? There shouldn't be anything in the exhaust install that would change the vacuum being pulled. Perhaps the leak, if there is one, is in the area of the fuel vapor cannister. It's in the passenger fender and is not testable as you described without gaining access to it.

i'm saying my boost gauge was reading 15 in vacum at idle, then it went to 0.... i drove it for a day or two now it back at 4-5 with a slightly odd idle. its a built engine with a vortech.

You may want to confirm the vacuum reading with a test gauge. Is the boost an electrical or mechanical gauge? Do you have access or know a shop that can test for vacuum leaks with a smoke tester? Again I'm thinking that if there is a vacuum leak it could be in an area that you can't test with carb cleaner but a smoke test would identify a leak anywhere in the system.

Reading any vacuum before you get into boost?
