Vent Controls

Ok so in my 98 I have had some issues recently and I can't get my ax controls to work right. Basically I think my problem is a blocked vacuum line but I'm not totally sure how to go about fixing it, the problem is when I turn on my air conditioning it comes out the defroster and some air to the floor and no matter what I do it won't switch to the vents. Anybody know what's wrong or how to fix it?

I don't think that it's a blocked vacuum line. I think that it's a broken one. Look under hood up against the firewall. Carefully check the ends and see which ones are not actually attached that look like they still might be.

Those small hard lines dry up and break pretty often.

yep a broken vacuum line, it was laying on a part of the motor that got hot and melted it at the piece of plastic that connects them. It looked like it was still good but when I touched it, it fell apart
