Vortech Belt Replacement

yea...it is kind of a pain. i have a 96 and i had the old style on my car first so i could change my belt easily and bypass supercharger if needed. but then my idler pulley broke and i had to buy the new style that is on your car. you have to actually take the supercharger bracket bolts out or loose to feed the belt through. :notnice: they went to this way to help with belt slippage.

honestly I just changed mine and i didn't think it was too bad. I did mine from underneath, insert the rachet in the idler and take the tension off the belt and with the other arm reach up and pull the belt off the alternator (it will be tight but it will come off )then just snake it out. You dont have to remove any bolts or anything just pay attention to the routing and you will be fine. I think Vortech gives you a picture to follow in their instruction manual. Good luck.
