Hey, I was thinking about getting a rotated upper intake to set-up a front mount intercooler, but the alternator would be right in the way. Is there anything I can do about this? Has anyone else ran into this problem?
brantley's site he has it done http://www.binaryweb.com/88lx/ bob40fordlee from turbo ford make them http://40bob.com/intakes.html
Some people well flip the alternator, so it would have plenty of room. Ive also seen a guy who makes them ( not sure but may be the same one where the alternator is fliped) where the upper intake is at a different angle than the tipical 90 degree. They said that on like a 87-88 tc with ABS may not fit. Here is the web site http://www.40bob.com/ P.S if you rotate a 93' DP 2.3L intake let me know
As mentioned, I have Bob's rotated upper. It's at roughly 120 degrees. He does awesome work, it's worth the money. Speaking of the alternator, today i fabbed a bracket to move the alt over to where the A/C used to be Just gotta shim one side out a bit, extend the wiring harness, and get a shorter belt.
most people rotate further around than just 90* like has already been said to go around the alternator
