water pump help ??

i removed my water pump from my 95 5.0L and there is no plate that bolt to the back off the pump ????guy at ford told me i should have one ..???wtf???i know there is on the 93 5.0Lbut my pump does not have any were for the plate to bolt to >no holes so can i just put the gasket in between pump abd timing cover >??

Um, don't know foxes but there's no plate like that on our cars. So the gasket goes between the timing cover and the water pump like you said. Are you sure you got the right water pump? The pump is different for 94-95 5.0.

thats all i needed to know no plate on my 95 5.0L right.... one gasket in between the pump and cover cool thanks

I hope you didnt buy the water pump from ford. I just replaced mine, got it from summit racing, it cost 60-70 bucks dont remember exact, ford wanted 120-140.....its has the exact same part number stamped on it along with the ford oval
