Welding up engine bay...need help

As some of you may know, i fiberglassed my engine bay. Well after everyone teling me it wouldnt hold up, i decided to grind it all off and weld. When i weld a piece in to cover the frame rail, do you guys paint in there before? Welding the aprons is pretty straight forward. But whats the best way to prevent rust in the rails? Heres some pics of it fiberglassed...Without bondo. I used west system epoxy resin. It definitely wasnt going to crack or peel. But i really want a nice clean show car look. I need some advice on the correct way to do this. Thanks guys!

Dude! if you went through the trouble to do all of that, leave it. The holes aren't going to stress and cause any cracking in the fiberglass. I'd finish smoothing it and move on.

DAM! haha i already stripped one side! I got sick of people saying it was hack and that it wasnt going to work. oops. Well with that being said...What do i do now? lol

welding up an engine bay is a ***** ton of work and will most likley get skim coated with bondo anyway just like the glass would need for a finished look.
