Expected it today, but the seller didnt have the paperwork ready. Says he will get it taken care of tonight and tommorrow morning. I really hope so, its two weekends, that have gone by where I couldnt start cleaning it up. So if all goes well tommorrow I will own my first stang. Its a 2001 GT Convertible, triple white, 67k, pretty much stealing it for $7500. Its got a little bit of a noise coming from the rear, I`m going to change the diff fluid, have the brakes turned, probably get a set of green stuff pads, do a tune up and fluid change, and see how she does. It needs a cleaning pretty bad, but should clean up nice. I`m excited, but I dont plan on doing any mods until I get the mini paid off, which if all goes well, should be about 4 months. I really am on the fence about doing a full exhaust on it. The two sticky points for me is the difficulty of installing long tubes, and if I want the extra noise on a rag top. Thoughts?
Get it in good running condition and thoroughly clean before you start thinking about mods. A $6700 Mustang is gonna have at least one item that needs immediate attention.
Maybe Killy was thinking of the actual price of the car before taxes? That is assuming that $7500 includes the taxes in the first place. Congrats on the car! That is very cheap!
no, no, no! You guys are wrong. If you look at the mileage of the car, it says 67K. He got the 2 numbers mixed up.
He said it's triple white. White leather good luck with it! Get it to a mechanic immediately for a full checkup though
Congrats on the stang. I just got my first one almost 3 weeks ago and couldn't be happier(unless it were a Cobra or Mach 1).
Well after a few headaches with the seller, mainly him not having his ***** ready, I signed and took posession of the car. I went in at 930, finalized it all 3 long hours later. The woman working the finances felt bad about the whole deal even though it was completely the guys fault. So she gave me two frisbees, and a coffee thermos. Started cleaning the car today, didnt get far, its too windy outside. Did manage to make a huge improvement on the convertible top. Anyone have any tips for cleaning the white leather or top? The neighbors seem to have mixed reactions, the kids ironically thought I was crazy for buying another car. (I think they side with my lunatic neighbor who I have had a ongoing dispute over using our shared driveway). The mom liked it, and so did my other neighbor. But anyways, going to hopefully get to tear into it this weekend. On the plus side, my wifes friend wants to buy our BMW, and if she doesnt theres two other girls at work that want it. The best part of the day was finding out a job interview I went to, which I thought I bombed, apparently went really well. My wife works with one of the supervisors wifes, and said the Colonel was really impressed by me. (Not KFC). FIrst on the list is a tune up, fluids, and complete detail. Then I can start looking at toys for it. It does have a alarm on it, but I have no idea what brand the alarm is, so will probably get it replaced. Unless I can find another remote for it. Oh, its an auto. Not my first choice, but still for the price, come on!
Clean the top with a Ragg Top cleaner/protector kit for vinyl. Alternatively, use a Mr Clean Magic Eraser to clean and 303 Aerospace Protectant to protect. Please note that the Mr Clean Magic Eraser has not been absolutely proven to be safe for use on vinyl tops so you will be testing this for us let us know how it goes
