ok the christmas season and my gf have once again drained me. and ive once again lost the hope to buy some aluminum heads. seems like i cant keep any excess money anymore. so anyways. i have gt-40 heads from a 96 explorer...not p's ok. anyways. theyve been shaved like .020 and i have 1.6 rollers on em. can i have these things hogged out so that they could act much like a set of aluminum ones, minus the weight part. i know that gettin 1100 extra with nothing to spend it on is gonna be almost impossible now. if the gifts dont do it, then the woman will. i can get my heads hogged out and put back on for right around 400-500 here, and i can manage that. would it be worth my time and would it make a nice pickup in power for the money?

    Bart,

Hawaii racing in Simi Valley, Ca (you can find them on the net) sells FMS GT40 Y heads, aluminum, complete for $800. You could sell yours and be into new aluminum heads for less than the cost of porting the old heads. Just an idea...
