What is a stock 2003 Corvette C5 putting to the ground? Does anyone know, because I'm interested. Please don't take me as cocky or a liar, but I got a serious (1½-2 car) kill on a Vette today. I'm curius in knowing whether or not, he was a bad driver or if I beat'em.

I've beat several SS Camaros, but a Vette is a Vette, "True American Muscle" :rlaugh:, I'm gonna stick with HE GOT :owned: !!!!

I've heard crazier things, nice kill on the Vette and SS. Vettes have essentially the same motor as the F-bodies.

I've seen a stock vette put down 313rwhp and 327rwtq. So your mach should beat one. Especially w/ gears.

Man I wish I had a solid axle.

Well your "kill" is completely believable...you outdrove the vette owner by a bit...but stock vs. stock the 97+ ls1 vette will win...they put down around 300rwhp (varying depending on whether it is the 4L60E or 6spd)...some stock ones have trapped as high as 109mph...and with the slightly less weight and better aerodynamics...

Just for your info the z28/ss/formula/transam/ws6/vettes all are within (on average) 10rwhp of each other...nothing special about the ss's or ws6's compared to the "basier" models...besides options and appearance packages...

    Good race...

I went to a corvette dyno day one time and saw a bunch of LS1's dynoed. Most put down between 300-325 depend on mods (only minor stuff, catback, airlids, headers, ect) I was surprised the Camaros make just as much power as a vette even though the vettes are rated higher. So with the mods you got you should be pissing off LS1 owners on a regular basis. Good kill!!

F-bodies usually make just as much, if not more, RWHP than the LS1 C5s because of the Vette's transaxle and IRS.

I recently was at a Roush Dyno Day and someone brought their new C6. He pretty much got owned by a bunch of Roush's and Cobra's. He put down a measly 330whp from his LS2. :notnice: Sure, it may make some more power with a few more miles on it, but losing 70hp through the drivetrain sucks and I was certainly disappointed.

330 is kinda bad, but like you said, with some break in I'm sure there's some more horses to be had.

That is pretty low. He should put about 350ish to the ground.

With your mods you should take a stock vette. Most auto vettes come with a 2.73 rear unless it has the sport package which bumps the auto to a 3.23 (I believe). The manual M6 C5s have the 3.42 and the Z06 has the M12 3.46 rear.

Good kill. So far I haven't found a C5 vette owner willing to race. Most of them drive like my grandmom. Now, C4 owners will race at the drop of a dime!
    :nice:

your right about most vettes..they will dyno around 325-330, my 01 ss dynoed 324. one thing though, although i own a gt and a vette and i love mach 1's, looking to get one...my z06 vette will stomp a mach 1, it dynoes 370 to the wheels..what a blast it is...
