I am wondering what simple things I can do to upgrade the stock sound system. I have the stock system, not the Mach 460.

What I am looking at is getting a better head unit & better speakers. Anyone know what would give me nice sound without adding subs or spending a ton of cash. I can spend say $500 max.

Thanks for any and all help!

    The "best" ....

money spent would be to replace your stock speakers with quality speakers. That will make the biggest difference - Then save a few more $$ and upgrade the head unit.

    ....

    Then... Get an amp...

    Then get better speakers...

    Then get a sub/amp

    Then get a bigger amp...

Then put 6 1/2" components all around..

    Then get a bigger amp..

    Then get a bigger sub..

Then get ANOTHER sub to add to the first one..

Then get a bigger sub amp

    Then get XM Radio

Then get a new head unit that can control your XM for you...

    Then get an iPod

Then hook your iPod up to your head unit

Then dump it all cuz you want 5.1 or 7.1 sound..and video

But...if it were me, I'd *definitely* start with a couple of sets of nice speakers.

There are many "decent" speakers out there..

it all depends upon your long-term goals. If you just want to improve upon what you've got, I'd just replace fronts/rears with decent 5x7's or 6x8's - they'll drop in the stock locations with zero modification.

Decent brands include Alpine, Infinity, Polk...

Better are Boston Acoustic, MB Quart, Focal... Go to a local sound place, take your CD's and listen to YOUR music - spend lots of time. Something will catch your ear.
