After Dan, Scott and I just hijacked Randy's thread ...

    http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=636582

I figured what the hell. Let's hear what cars we beg, borrowed or stole to take to our senior prom. I know there will be a couple of cats out there that have not been to their senior prom yet so let's hear what you are planning to drive or steal.

I'll start. Back when I was 16, many, many years ago my Pop told me that whatever money I had saved by my 18th birthday he would match it so I could go purchase a car. Anyway, between a 4 am -- 7 day a week paper route and stacking planting base manure at a nursrey I had managed to rat hole almost 7 large. Needless to say a 87-89 5.0 was way more money then what I had to work with so I went out and bought a 1981 DeLorean. After a few Volvo mods I had given her some extra power. Just enough so I would'nt embarrass myself. That is the car I took to prom. Sold it a year later and made 2 grand on the deal. That was the beginning. I'll load a pic If I can find one.:D

    DeLorean!?!?

I took my '84 F250 XLT Lariat 4x4. Slight lift, 33" mud tires, and a built 460. You could hear it way before you could see it, hahaha. Nothing like 10 mpg in the summer and 4 mpg in the winter.

Hey, I went to North Pole High School in Alaska!

I took my brother's bright red 1978 Corvette with a built L-82 under the hood. He gave it to me for the whole day. Not only was it the car I drove to the prom, but it's also the first car I drove at a 140 miles an hour. But don't tell my brother I said that. :rlaugh:

    Yea Rob.

I have no idea what got into me.

Nothing like the sound of MudTerrains or any other mud tire in the dry. Sounds like a freight train. My thornbirds were so loud on my Toyota I couldn't hear myself think!

    Nice Mike.

We won't tell. I had a 77 and that 3 speed auto was really wailing above 100mph. That was some scary sh#*. I can't imagine going 140 in it.

I was anti-prom, didn’t have anything to drive and didn’t even care about cars.

If I did go to prom, it would have been in our '78 Chevy Chevette with a built 350 on juice, gears,...

    Yeah, right.

Me and my girlfriend (who now is my fiance) Took a giant stretch. By ourselves! It was the biggest limo there so of coarse everyone waiting outside figure like 40 people were going to crawl out of it. A lot of people were shocked when they only saw me and my date get out. It felt good to look like a big shot! Everyone asked if my family owned a limo company. I just told everybody that i just felt like taking a big stretch to the prom. Even though prom sucked it was nice at the end of the night to hop in our big stretch and leave!

Me I'm 21 going on 22, Getting married to my Senior Prom Date on the 3rd of June this year. Mine was a 1971 AMC Hornet SC/360 with of course the 360 with a 4spd manual. Fathers Car. He bought brand new in 1971 and never sold. Sweet rare little sucker and faster than all get out. For Her Senior Prom we took my V6 Mustang that had the built 302 in it :)

Mine was my 71 Mach 1 429scj. My date didn't even complain about the lack of A/C and most of you know I live in Georiga. Lots of humidity, not too mention it was in the 90's here. The only complaint was getting stuck in traffic for 4 hours trying to leave the prom!

I got to take mom's 87 Mustang GT. You've seen ones like it: Mineral grey on top, blue stripe, light grey on the bottom. I was seriously stoked. It ran pretty damn good for a stock car! Smoked a 78 Corvette on the way to pick up my date. Thought I was all that and two bags of chips...:rlaugh:

I took my 86 Nissan Sentra to prom. I know that's a really lame car, but it was mine, and a lot of my friends didn't even have cars! On the way from the restaurant to the prom, my best friend blew my doors off with his mom's Monte Carlo SS that he borrowed! That car was a t-top creaky, leaky, nasty Chevy that barely got out of its own way. But for the day, that was a fast car.

BTW, I did drive my computer teacher's 87 Mustang GT, two-tone grey with red stripe, whenever he let me (often) but I couldn't take it to prom, bummer...

His was an auto also, a turbo 350 if I remember correctly but I think they'd built that up as well. Even with the auto that car was quick. It was 18 years ago, but I seem to remember it feeling solid but the wind noise was loud as hell at 140.

This could take awhile since Marcus stated "prom" instead of only my Senior prom. Let the list begin

    Sophmore year - Limo
    Junior year - Limo
Senior year - Limo to the prom......brothers Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9 (that thing really moves) for after the prom

Girlfriends senior prom my freshmen year in college - brothers 95 Camero Z28 vert with a sick system......toasted my buddies 95GT coupe without a challenge :notnice: Damn chevy

Next Girlfriends senior prom the two years later - my 98 S281 N/A vert....... Yeah I was one of those 21 year olds at a high school senior prom. Funny thing was, I wasn't the oldest person there attended the dance!!!!!

.....what a shocker, made two grand on the sale of the DeLorean. Marcus, has there been ANY car you've sold that you don't make a profit on??? I need to get into the used car market

I can't remember what I drove. Was either a '74 Nova or a '79 Chevy Monza. Either way it wasn't anything too inspiring. But then neither was my date :)
