I got the kit off of BuyFordRacing.com I am going to paint the rotor hub silver. and I was debating between black, red, grey or silver for the calipers. I didn't want to paint it red because it will match the car and look dumb. Some Pictures would help... thanx for the input I should of done a poll lol.

Why didn't you just buy the red Cobra (or those other, which I personally don't care for, running horse) calipers and be done with it? Actually, I wanted the BLACK Cobra calipers, but they were out of stock.
Nonetheless, RED is the color you need, with silver on the hat. I WISH I would have painted my hats before I installed mine...:nonono:
Kinda tough to see here, but I did paint the rear calipers to match - but they are just the stockers.

EPIKGT I like how yours turned out! Where and what type of red caliper paint is that? I am definitly painting the rotor hats. probobly silver or black. I painted my stockers black you just cant see the hat in that picture. yea I could always paint my stock ones red before I take them off to see if I like it or not! any more pics of red on red would help. thanx

I painted mine with the duplicolor kit available at most auto parts stores - it's a brush on kit, but don't let that scare you, as it doesn't leave brush marks at all. I did 2 coats on my rear calipers. The paint has some ceramic crap in it, so it dries as tough as nails. Know that calipers take a beating though - expect to have to touch up every once it a while (which is muh easier to do with a brush than a spray can).

By the way, EpikGT, I dig the black hats - that simply hides the hat, which is really what needs to be done with them. Good call.

I did mine in red with the rotor hats silver

I used the Duplicolor "red" brush on caliper paint kit and Duplicolor Engine Enamel DE1650 Cast Coat Aluminum spray paint for the rotor hats. I did the front and rear brakes with it

One thing about painting the rotor hats. If you do any serious form of racing and REALLY heat these brakes up they paint will boil. I found this out the hard way. I drove around 2 years on the street and my brakes looked like the above picture (prep goes a long way) but i went Autocrossing twice and seriously heated them up and the paint began to boil off the rotors. I had to wire brush and repaint them. Normal street driving (even aggressively) never got them that hot. I was driving the autocross course like a nut!!

That looks really good. I used some spray on paint on mine... cant remember, but I thought it was duplicolor, & it really didnt turn out that great. Now that I see yours, I wanna redo mine with the brush on method....I also painted my rotors with the high temp engine enamel.

5l5 your setup looks real good. thanx for the photshop NH. yea, I couldn't figure out how to do that on Photoshop. My brother just showed me how! I think I'm going to paint the caliper red, and black and paint the rotor hat black also. But I'm not sure on the rotor hat... maybe silver?
