I made it for my Instructor, we're trying to get more students sign up...and we're also going to try to get a seminar soon. I think it's good...and I'm just looking for a bit of feedback. I'd say it's about 90% complete. there's a bit of text alignment I want to fix, and the one figure in the logo needs feet any image quality problems are due to illustrator's poor ability to export jpegs. the .ai file looks much cleaner
i like it, it caught my interest. the only thing is that in the line "although Hap ki do is an extremely effective means of self defense, this art goes far beyond that trappings of a simple fighting system." the part after the comma make no sense to me. "that trappings" that is really confusing to me.
see, this is why I post these things...haha my instructor wrote the piece and I really didn't edit it.
this is like using the other persons momentum against them. when contact is made, you arent stopping say a punch, but rather moving the punch in another direction away from you. using their kenetic energy to throw them off balance.... i am anywhere in the ballpark?
Yes, that's the general idea. You may be thinking of Aikido though, which is similar in some ways. Aikido is all fluid motions which redirect an opponent's force. Hapkido differs in that it involves striking, kicking, and locking, while Aikido is purely defensive.
Or assisting the other guy in kicking his own butt. The thing Paul caught was the only one I saw too. You dont want it to read too good - that's not authentic. Hmmm, how I interpreted the location of one term: "I just got kicked in the Dan Jun." Seriously, you did a good job.
I agree with both comments... Paul, I used illustrator and photoshop, but 90% was done in illustrator. If you've ever used it, you would see why it's far superior to any microsoft or corel software adobe FTW
I had a class in Illustrator....and I have to say, I HATE that software! Photoshop if pretty cool though.
Which version? how many years ago? illustrator CS and CS2 are far superior as far as usability, GUI and many other things... all I know is photoshop couldn't accomplish most of the things I need
Just last year....if I were real into graphical design maybe I would have liked it, but it was too complicated for someone who just needed the credits.
