have someone run the vin, see if it is an actual saleen.

i dont think blue book value does saleen or roush, etc. i could be wrong though.

unless its really high mileage, or been wrecked, or something blown up on it i'd say that is really low for a saleen.

looks like saleen gauges and everything though, dunno what saleens go for this body style, but if they go for around that price, i'm kicking myself for buying my GT hahah.

Is that Blue Book for a 06 GT? It seems very low. And yes, a Saleen would go for much more than a stock GT. This does seem like some sort of scam. Worth checking into though, maybe the owner just really needs to sell.

looks like a scam too few details if the dude bought it he would know a little about it instead of just saying excellent for everything, and no rust its a year old for god sakes. if it sounds too good to be true it normally is.

yes, good point about the details. If it were really a deal, the seller would bother to put in all the relevent info. Here is an actual Saleen for comparison:

got my 06 roush with 1k miles for 27k.

16 for a saleen?? must have a ***** ton of miles. sticker for my roush was 42, and i've got the stage 2, if thats the supercharged saleen the stickers gotta be more than 42... so thats weird..

Yeah... That's most likely a load of crap. No VIN number or mileage. Surprisingly... They do give a phone number. Have you called them yet?

I'd guess its just a typo. A while back I was looking for cars on AutoTrader and saw this really nice 2006 truck listed at like $3000... Turned out it should've been $30000 haha!

And just to put things in perspective...

what you payed for your roush is what i expect a base saleen to go for. i don't know how saleen has theirs set up though, like the roush has the stages etc.

before this car i had a chance to buy a 04 roush stage 3, one of 4 in america for that year. unfortunately it got bought out from under me. but i bet the 109k miles it had on it were mostly WOT haha.

That 2006 Saleen for $46k seems pretty overpriced, although its also modified. A standard S281 S/C'd Saleen puts out 465 hp, and they claim 500 hp plus. The extreme puts out 600+, so we know its not that. The 2008 Saleen S281 RF (not exactly sure what it entails, but its supercharged) has an MSRP of $49,995 brand new.

Another perspective: on ebay, you can currently pick up a new Roush 427R for under $48k. There's another listed for $38k, but it seems like a scam. It says new with 12 miles, but it is being sold by a "city living student" instead of a dealer.

I didn't even notice it was a Steve car. 16 is for an excellent GT.
