What is better Mods to a GT or wait for a Cobra?

I have read some websites talking about Mod GT's vs Cobras.

Just looking for some opinions on what factory upgrades happen to boost the cost so much.

Also, are there alot of mods that happen to Cobras also. eg. exhaust
