I'm currently in banking but not sure if this is what I want to do. Maybe I just don't like this bank, but I don't know. What other jobs out there are pretty cool and pay well? I'll be graduating with a Bus. Management degree, so that's pretty broad. Thanks
Im going to school for electrical engineering, and Ill more than likely end up at Exxon Mobile. But I would LOVE to open a speed shop with my buddies.
I've been an aircraft mechanic for 10 years (loved it), got a new job as a flight engineer now...actually still in school for it (Air Force). Almost have my Airframe and Powerplant license and Professional Aeronautics degree from Embry Riddle. When I grow up (ie retire form the AF) I'm gonna continue school centering on math and engineering....when I grow up. But the Air Force is fun (for me) and pays OK (you won't get rich)...really fun now if you like sand and hot climates. Good Luck, and whatever you do, have fun doing it!
i wanna do web design/webmastering and work from home and make lots of money so i can buy lots of stangs and lots of stang parts.
off topic, but what squadron/airframe did you crew in? i was a crew chief in the 336th/f-15e at seymour johnson back in the late 90's
I am/was a 130 guy....engines/crew chief, Flight Engineer now. I was at Hurlburt, Ramstein, stationed at Pope now, (school right now at Little Rock, till Dec.) 54 a day in per diem here......Long TDY's make your car faster. Got out huh...I'm still having fun...when that stops...I'm done as well.
Well im going to be a High School Teacher. i start the program in the fall and will start student teaching in the spring. I am excited i really hope this is going to be a good fit for me.
^^^ cool, i'm probably gonna teach for a few years myself. gonna do middle school, though--perfect time for me to mold them into an anti-establishment militia!!
i'm a software developer. 22 years. i make $135K, funny thing is it's still not enough what with living in the DC area and having 2 kids in private school when i grow up (aka retire), i want to restore classic cars and sell them
That's a pretty good wage. I have a friend working in MD as well and is making $2300 a week. But he says that the houses are ridicuosly expensive. He said that there was a messed up trailer with a lot for $250k. That's insane. I just found a semi new trailer with lot for $28k here. He's just gettin his money together and is buying a house here or in Houston. He's been working and has $60k saved up in under 6 months. I HATE THE BASTARD!!!
$2300 * 50 = $115,000 what does he do? yeah, housing is ridiculous. my house in bethesda cost $920K, and it is not at all big (1800 Sq Ft). it is just the location. good thing my wife's parents sold their house and we sold ours (we moved in together) because we could never have been able to afford anything close otherwise. private schools are crazy expensive too. my son's is $14K every year and my daughters is $12K. her high school is likely to be closer to $20K. heck even utilities are high. my electricity bill last month was $500. after the kids are out of school, then maybe i'll be able so spend some of my money on myself
FYI, I'm currently working on the paperwork to get my house built. It'll be 1300sqft, with lot(65x110or so) for $60k. I've looked at homes that are about 1800 and they range between $80-$90k. Not that bad. He's an industrial electrician. He never went to college either, he's just got his hs diploma and the electrician's license.
My fraternity brother got the best job I've ever heard of. He got his master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering and works for ESPN. They fly him and another guy out to all of the major sports events that ESPN live broadcasts and the two of them go out to the mobile studio and make sure that there are no fire hazards. He goes to every single major sporting event. Food is free, travel is free, hotels are free, and he pulls down 85K per year. THAT is my dream job. Adam
Information Technology. Pays good, been doing it for several years, and I get to play (I mean test, fix, and use) with all kinds of new stuff. I finally became an IT Director last year overseeing my company's facilities all over the Southeast. I love it. Pay is good, people are nice, and get lots of respect, because most people around me rely on my help to keep them going. I get to travel too to major cities and most evenings are free on trips, so that's way cool. As long as you're willing to keep learning, you'll never be bored in the IT field.
I'm starting college in the fall majoring in industrial design, and minoring in photography...I'm aiming to get a job designing hot rods, or custom cars for a designer, start my own custom shop, or work for a major auto manufacturer in their design department.
