what makes e6 heads bad?

  • Sponsors (?)

if you take the time to shape the chambers the actually turn out pretty good.

I remember the valves being .100+ higher in the head. Maybe .150"?

The ports are almost exactly like an e7 but you could run a bigger cam with all the PTV clearance.

I thought that question had already been answered here:

... or in one of the other half dozen threads you started about this topic.

Not trying to be a PITA but what question is still unanswered?

The E6 heads were NEVER designed with performance in mind. They were a band-aid to satisfy a new emmision standard. They're the bastard child of all the heads that ever made their way onto a Stang. Yes... they can be made to produce some semblance of performance but it's cost prohibitive. The money you'd spend to get them that way would probably have you half way to decent set of after market castings.

If you're hell bent on making your E6 heads work because you're unable to afford an alternative at this point, then just slap the damned things back on the car and run them until you can. There's no point in trying to "soup them up". For that matter, throw the OEM cam and heads back on the car and call it a day until you're able to match up a combo that WILL be a benefit.

Regardless of much you WANT them to, they're not going to magically produce a 12 second car for you. hehe
