Yup, 1993 was the Mark 8...which i had the pleasure of owning one. Totally different rear brake setup with the IRS. I made a mistake. The Mark 7 used the 10.5" rear setup for two years 91-92
Just to throw a stick in the spokes, this site says the rears on the Cobra Rs were "11.65". (4th paragraph) http://www.detroitracing.net/rides/toolbox/R_means_Race
I have read quite a few "reference books" that had incorrect information. Only real way to tell is by R Code actually measuring his.
The ad's details are fake. I owned that Mark 8 and sold it. After selling it i "tweaked" the ad a bit to make it interesting and make the car sound too good to resist. I sold it for more than $1200.
Hopefully R Code can get back to us. I looked at the "Offical Ford Mustang Technical Reference & Performance Handbook" and it also states that the R used 10.5" rotors from the Mark VII. The rear calipers were the same from the regular '93 Cobra. But special caliper brackets were used, obviously. We will see if this info holds up.
Sorry for the delayed responce... Here is a thread on SVTP talking about 93R rear brakes. http://svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320061 ...yes they are vented.
Thanks for the response, but now I'm confused. I gather from that thread that the Cobra R has 11.65" rotors. I now have two different responses from two different R owners. '93 R-code you are saying it's basically the 94-98 Cobra rear brakes? I had another Cobra R owner on corral confirm to me that it's the 10.5" vented 92 Mark 7 rear setup. Judging from what i can see in that picture, that doesn't look like an 11.65" rotor. ????????????????????????????
Not that Ford is really on top of their game, but the Description for the M-2300-K Kit says you can upgrade your braking system to 1993 Cobra "R" Spec/1994 Cobra Specs.

Nice, so i guess that clears it up. I love how Ford claims the 2300K kit is the Cobra R kit when it's technically not correct.
