  1. Just wondering the best motor oil to run in below freezing weather and who has different opinions? It gets down to about 6* in the winter here and Im concerned about my oil pressure at start up. I have a 10:1 compression 306 built up if that makes any difference?
  2. I run valvoline all climate 10w-30 here in Mi all year round and winter gets below 0* a lot in Jan and Feb.
  3. 5W-30 would work just fine also - make it a little easier on the starts
  4. The first number in the oil weight, the 5w, 10W, 15W, ect represents the cold weight, which in the winter you want to be a low number. 5W-30 and 10W-30 are the same at operating temps but the 5W30 flows better when cold. I run Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-30 and an oil cooler.
  5. i would go 5w-30 for winter...

90mustang...do u have a soundclip of your car by any chance?
  6. Thanks guys, I will do the swap this weekend and see if I run into any problems cause I have a rear main to do also. I'll keep ya posted
