What mods are needed to run a high 12's with street tires? I do understand that driving skills will play a big part but what mods will get me into the 12's?

Will a Cold air intake/Tune, and an X pipe with exhaust get me there?

Definitely not. 4.10's, intake, tune, and lower control arms will get you close. If you're a great driver, you might dip into the 12's. You'd definitely be there with those mods and drag radials.

I have. 95mm CAI, GT-500 throttlebody, FRPP CMRC delete plates, Underdrive pulleys, BULLITT mufflers. with an email tune I ran 13.05 @ 107.44 mph on factory BFG 18's WITH the factory 3.31 rear gears. Thursday I have a meeting with the guys from American Racing headers about becoming a dealer and if all goes well I'll install a set on my car. I estimate those longtubes and a dyno tune I'll run 12.8 on street tires and dead 3.31 rear gears.

thats an impresive trap speed for those minimal mods, what do those years stangs run stock? I raced one and it was really slow, but it could of been a auto or stick w/ crappy driver.

From what I've seen at the track, most S197 stock with good drivers run between 13.7-13.9.... atleast the handful of cars that I can confirm to be factory stock. Mine ran 14.1 but I was bogging it out of the hole.
