What's needed for 85GT to 93GT front end?

I guess that AMC Javelin I own is pretty common too, and my 2 Vespas. Maybe I should ditch those everyday items and buy 4 of the same year car, now that would be original. Whats more original than arguing about originality when we all own a car that Ford produced millions of? Owning 4 of them!! Good job, hopefully you keep them in your garage and off the road.

I must be on the right path if nobody around here agrees with me. That only means hardly anybody else is doing it. God knows I wouldnt want to be like you resto kings and your obscure 80's Mustangs. Man, I remember when I was a young wipper snapper, those cars were all over the road, everybody had one. Oh wait, that was yesterday, I forgot. Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader still list them as new used cars. Hmm, go figure huh. Those classic fastback mustangs, I mean hatchback mustangs are getting so hard to find. You can argue with me all you want. I find it amusing. I honestly just saw a Cobra and wondered what it would take to make mine like that. SO I asked around. Next thing ya know, people are jumping down my throat. Almost driving me to do it since I never want to miss an opportunity to piss someone off. Regardless of whether 50 people do it a day, I dont care. I'd love the challenge of making the car look exact, plus I love how the cobras look. And if it makes me happy well thats all I care about. Nobody here has a right to talk about being original since we all drive Mustangs. There isnt a damn think you've done to your car, that 2000 stangers havent already done. I built a Clevor engine that romps. Did you guys? No, you bought Trickflow and AFR heads. You want to talk about project/installation difficulty? Or I guess that 460/C6 I'm building rests between the fenderwells of all your Mustangs. I'm not saying these things havent been done, but the things I've done to my car are consistantly different and things I myself have yet to witness with my own eyes. Things I couldnt find help for since I couldnt find anybody who had a clue what I was talking about. Or how everytime I go to the hobby shop(Marine C-130 mechanic), people give my engine setup the craziest looks and questions. Obviously they havent seen it either. Look at yourselfs before you go and pass judgement on others. Stop leaching off those that stray from what you believe is right. Stop trying to land your ideas on someone who already has his mind made up and is obviously seeking advice on how to finish his goal. You all love to snap back quickly with your "witty" comments, when you should really heed what is told to you. You dont look good in my eyes when you laugh, you look ignorant and feeble minded. Thats all. So go ahead and paste some quote of mine, and make a smart ass comment, further showing your stupidity.

If you're serious about the swap. I have a lot of front end parts. headlights, hood, bumper, fenders(only one left), fender extesions. I have a complete lx front clip minus one fender. have the brackets also. can email me [email protected] or [email protected]

Your right man. Cobra R's are a dime a dozen. And I should just jump into a project I've never tried before without getting advice. And I'm sure you repair jet engines too? But I guess I'd be upset too if I owned an ugly car like an 84, hahahahaha. You guys are such a great source of laugher, the wife and I love it.

Holy crap! Those are your own quotes your ripping on!

Please, go ahead and make fun of my cars! Hate to tell you also , but the 84 looks identical to the 85 with the exception of about a one foot by half foot section , and thats the grill. So I guess your car is ugly too? Your the guy tring to build a frankinstein on wheels. Your right, no one has ever butchered up a Mustang by hanging a areo nose on the front. Your the first

Dude, you have serious issues. Nobody (at least not me) jumped down anyones throat. If you take my opinion as jumping down your throat, you'd probably wet yourself if i actually jumped down it. Ya know why Javalins are rare? Because everyone butchered them, aside from the fact that they were'nt all that to begin with. Different, yes, cool? Sure, i like'em. Hell my number 2 car ever is an AMX which is nearly the same car or at least pretty similar. In fact, i used to have a 71 Javalin myself that was a hunk of junk....full fiberglass tilt-forward front end, 390 under that, 4 speed....ended up falling apart.

Anyways, you've just plain old gotta lighten up man. But that's all i've got, heaven forbid i quote something and make myself look more stupid for being opinionated.

Are you upset you have a slow ass 95? :stick:

:D

PS. I do have Capri and later Fox panels/lights on my car...

Ouch, what happened to the red vert?
No, the 95 is my wifes car, has A/C, stereo, auto, and gets great gas mileage. I figure when you have a 12 second Jav, and an 11 sec Mustang, your daily driver can be as slow as you want it to be. But its still a GT which beats driving an import or something

bought it wrecked off a fellow stangnetter. he rear-ended someone then got rearended himself. it's gonna take a lot to get it back on the road.

Well SmockDoiley, the swap is pretty much straight foward, you maybe could do it in a day with air tools. I did the swap because i wanted a different hood and my front clip was cracked, it could of been repaired but i wanted a different look. I asked on here and everyone told me to sell my car to someone who will appreciate it and buy a "plain one." My car is tadone the way I want, not what anyone else wants, so go for it man. Do what makes you happy. Because in the end that is what matters. I am not dogging anyone for expressing there opinions but i think it is odd to change the entire 4 eyed motor, tranny, rear-end, interior, and quarter-glass to 87-93, but when people talk about changing the front end they get all bent out of shape. Do the swap, then drive your car and enjoy what you have done. I like the 4 eyed interior better then the 87-93 so i am going leave that. I like the 4 eyed quarter windows but I like the newer front end better. SO go for it and PM me if you have any questions.

You guys are ****ing idiots. You cant tell sarcasm when you read it can you? Cobra R's are not a dime a dozen. Man I love how ignorant you guys are. And your 84 is way different in the front if you ask me. I think they are hidious. Even if it is just a slight difference, it makes all the difference in the world. And dont hate by saying I'm building a frankenstein. If show quality looking 10 second cars are frankensteins to you well you need to grow up and realize that hot rodding is not about keeping your car stock. And maybe if you didnt buy a bucket 70's AMC you wouldnt have a problem. My 69 is great, and a true classic. No rust and never breaks down. Maybe if you knew what you were doing it would have lasted for you. I guess thats why you keep things stock, so you dont mess your car up. Go hate on Shelby for hacking up old fastbacks. You guys are idiots. Tell you what, if you love 4-eyed cars so much, then go buy some aero mustangs and convert them over to 4-eyes. And if your saying that making my car look like an 87-93 is frankenstein, then your ripping on every mustang on here and in the mags. If anybody needs to lighten up, its you. Jealousy is a sad thing my friend, truly sad.

i was kinda trying to help you and your damn rudeness isnt appreciated, so stop being an ******* to everyone and thank them for the help they give you. I like the 84 front end but i wanted a different hood selection then the 4 eyes have so i changed it. This is the last time i try to help you.

SmockDoiley, you're obviously obsessed with what people think of you. You're so self conscious that you're angry over people's opinions. You're insulting people because they disagree with you....People generally hate my car, there's nothing at all special about it. For example, i'm keeping my 10 hole rims. Why? Because i like'em. Not because everyone and their mother on this site says to buy Cobra Rs. You're too concerned with other people's opinions, and you're too stubborn and hard headed to even let people have them. It would really be interesting to hear how old you are, because you're acting like a fresh off the assymbly line cocky 18 year old. This will no doubt be the last post i waste typing on this idiotic thread, so have your last words if you will (and you no doubt will) I just honestly hope you take something good out of all this and realise that it just doesnt matter if people disagree with what you like, even if it is in fact stupid.

If you hadnt noticed I DID thank those intelligent enough to give me the tech advice I needed. The rest of you just bitched and complained that I was changing my car. Some advice that is. The only time I'll want someone's opinion is when I ask for one. Anybody who asks for opinions about how their car looks, obviously cant think for themselves. I come on here strictly to get the advice I need to finish my project goals, and to give advice to those that need it. And if we all are really on here to help each other, then you should respect my wishes. If I really want opinions about what to do with my car, I'll go on a Camaro forum and post about my Mustang. All those opinions will be about as negative as yours are. Thank you all who gave me real advice about the swap. You've made my job much easier!

Ok, i retract my last statement about that last sentence. Here, listen to yourself:

Anybody who asks for opinions about how their car looks, obviously cant think for themselves.

And then, in the exact same post:

Thank you all who gave me real advice about the swap. You've made my job much easier!

Priceless. Ok, reinstating my last post comment here. Good day.

Smock, your additude is appalling, and to do the correct swap the way that you want to, you will also have to swap the mirrors and get the obsolete door trim. I personally say, dont remove what makes a car special. Would you remove the pillar in the back widow of a 63 Vette?

and now lets talk about making a 93 (4-eyed) cobra clone :D

props to wldhrse (it's his car)

If you read the whole story on this car you will be very interested. This guy knew that the molding on the Capri nose was different. He graphed a Capri upper with the GT lower nose assembly. the job was done so well that even under some very close shots you cant see the seem. Anyway I think its a good effort. Yes Capri parts are getting rarer and rarer. I know because I own a 82 Capri RS. I go to the pick-a-parts every other week just looking for that extra nose or extra hood and fender. I have noticed that 4 eyed parts in general are becoming harder to find. Just a thought!
