Wheel choices/ show your wheels

I am finalizing a 1965 fastback build. I am at the point that I need to order wheels and tires for the car, and am still procrastinating because I am not sure what I want. Since it is a restomod shelby re-creation with modern suspension and steering, I was thinking to go with 16's or 17's. I would like to get as much rubber under the car in the rear so a 16 or 17x8 wheel is where I am leaning. Very few wheels that I have found offer a 4.75" or 5" backspacing. I prefer the 5" backspace as I could always use a spacer if needed.
Wheel choices are so hard, I have been trying to stay with the conventional thrust D design, or one of the many variation of this style wheel. But am in no way stuck to this design only. Your Opinions Please!!!!!!
I would appreciate any opinions as well as pics of your wheels and fitting issues that you have run into.
The more the better. Lets see what you got, and how it looks.....

17x9.5 with 5" bs on the rear. 16x7 up front. Just a little massaging on the back side and mine is still enough it doesn't rub on the outside. 275.40.17's

I'm running Weld Drag Lites. 15x7 front w/ 245/60-15 and 15x10 rear w/ 295/50-15. If I were to buy wheels now I would go with the Torque Thrusts or a Halibrand style but just in case you like this style.

Photoshop different wheels onto your car to help

Lot's of awesome looking wheel choices on this post.

To keep that G.T.350 appearance you could go with something like this:
1007-21B Which would allow use of a good high performance tire.

These are from Team III and designed with the Cobra kit cars in mind. 17x8 with a 4.75" backspace, and 235/45-17 tires. Team III Wheels [AC III Wheels]

I photo-shopped a bunch of different wheels onto my car, printed the pictures, and stuck them all to the garage door. Over about a week or so, I weeded them all down to what I put on. Still very happy with the choice for this car.
Good luck! :nice:

Do you have any rubbing issues in the rear???? I know you rolled the rear fenders, I'm building the same width rear end 8.8" with ranger 5 lugs and cobra brakes , but everybody recommends 5.72" BS wheels, the wheels I want only come in 4.75BS also...
