We had 4" of snow and then ice on top of that. Another storm is supposed to start rolling through in a few hours, so we'll see what it drops.
Hey! Long time no visit (actually, I've peeked in occasionally, but haven't posted). My world has had it's ups and downs. Andy is still a definite up. On the down side, I've having major problems with my wrist (triangular fibrocartilage tear) and am getting ready to battle workers comp again. On another up side, I got Andy a puppy for Christmas so we are now the proud parents of a 12lb fuzzy rambunctious cat-chasing floor crapper (actually for 10 weeks old and neither of us ever housebreaking a puppy before, he's not doing too bad). Pics below. I'm still on 12 hr nights (Andy got days but now we only see eachother on our days off ) but I'm trying to get on 8 hr days but it's all based on seniority and I'll most likely have to take a pay cut to get in a position that's not so hard on my wrist. The plant is shut down for Christmas so I'm off until the 28th. But it's not a paid and although they tell us with the economy going down the crapper, we're still doing okay and there's nothing to worry about they just did a 4 week voluntary lay off But I think once I can get in a better postion at work and make it past January, I'll be doing okay. And now, here's the new gutter guard dog, Jango (kudos if you get the refference, I didn't. hint: Andy really likes Star Wars). They told us at the shelter he's a border collie or australian shepherd mix (we have a 35 lb weight limit at the apartment), but we're thinking he's more like a rottie/chow with maybe some german shepherd. We're actually thinking about doing one of those breed dna tests when we get our taxes back - might be kind of fun to find out. He is getting better about not chasing the cats. With his "cousin" (Andy's brother's dog) Clarke -Chelle
cute looking little scrapper there chelle! if you've never house broken a dog before...make sure that you have a crate for it, and then the first thing you do when you let it out is go out and do its duty...they figure out that after a while of that...and some scoldings....that they better hold it...lol... it took our lab a few weeks to get ahold of it...but its not that bad! good luck with the wrist, a friend of mine has carpal tunnel, and she's not too happy bout that either....
I just gotta warn ya; those cute little puppies can grow a lot! Pink and Green!!!! I dunno what happened to my little Fuji - think it must've hit the ground one time too many and effected the CCD asembly! Anyway; we once had a little puppy like that; but he grew. Bocephus came to us from Ft Polk; courtesy of Cowgirl Tink. (Yeah, we're just strange enough to import a LOUISIANA "Pound Puppy" to live in AZ.) Center: My Daughter Jessica (NOT TRISH!). Left: Her boyfriend RJ(NOT AJ, aka SVTCobra306!) Right: "Bocephus", a Queensland Heeler/Rottweiler cross. All 64 pounds (and still growing!) of him...... Yeah, he was born at Ft Polk; and yeah, Tink named him. It's appropriate - like Hank Williams Junior; Bo was "...born on the bayou on the Texas Line...." So you think your (Chow/Whatever?) cross is gonna stay under 35 lbs?????
Yeah, we're kind of expecting him to be around 60 lbs or so. We went out looking for something like a beagle, terrier, ****zu, or something along those lines but then my family has a curse for never getting what we were looking for with pets. When I got Romeo, I wanted a 3 - 4 month old female kitten with all her claws and I ended up with a 1 year old un-neutered declawed male cat. -Chelle
a blue heeler/rottie mixi hope there is some sanity left in the house, cause it wont be the dog i can tell you that.
Piffle. When we met, my wife had a female Rott; I had a male Heeler/Pit/Beagle cross. They got along famously. Bo is a reasonably quiet dog; just wants be be loved on.
Oh Malicious Mistress of Malignant Metal, Queen Keeper of the Closet Key.... It is so good to see you back, and with lunch..errr......reinforcements! I should forewarn you, The BBFCM loves dogs and dogs love him....one way or another. My "adopted Daughter" is moving in next week and she's bringing her pets....Stifler, an 18 mo old pit/lab mix, 3 cats, a tank full of fish and a habitat and snake, along with the mice she raises to feed the snake and the rabbits (who will be outside in their hutch)..........
Right now, our menagerie consists of the puppy, 2 cats, and 3 fish tanks full of fish. But once our lease is up, we want to find a house with a yard (and that doesn't charge an extra $15/pet/month). Then next Christmas, Andy may get the little yellow lab puppy he's always wanted. -Chelle
Hey 'Chelle! I'll join the ranks of Gutter-dwellers welcoming you back! House here is still big pet free, just what can live in a tank or cage in Deanna's room. Someday maybe...... But, I am glad to hear you are doing well, so that is a plus! Fritz, You must be a sado-machosist! You're getting kin and a farm! Keep 'em out of Sally!
R U Kidding? I'm gonna teach Stifler how to weld! Big galoot still thinks he's a lap-dog! BTW.....Dan, you've known me for how long? AND you're JUST figuring out that I am crazy?
Adopted daughter????? We gotta talk, man; a young female living semi-permanently in the "ultimate Man-Cave"
